Hooterville

I have recently finished the Hooterville pattern by Brandywine designs.
I just love the bright fun funky owls.  I choose to machine applique the owls and trees.

I quilted with just a little loopy meander.
Thanks for letting me share.

Diaper Clutch....

We have a friend of the family who is expecting a new grandson and they are very big football fans.
So of course I had to make something football themed for them.

I made a diaper clutch.   I stitched white lines on the green grass looking fabric and made the numbers on the sideline with iron on transfer vinyl.

I put fold in pockets for diapers and wipes.

I used iron on transfer vinyl for the Touchdown in the end zone.  I used light weight clear vinyl over the inside
so that it can be easily cleaned.

On the outside I appliqued a football.
There is a few more weeks until the baby shower.  So if you know who it is for....keep it a secret.

Thanks,
Cathy

I Got it Done.

I have finished the quilting and the binding is all done.

It is not winter anymore, but Mom did put it on a bed at her house when she took it home.
Thanks for looking.

What is on my Longarm?

I thought I would share with you what I am working on quilting right now.   Mom hand embroidered the Winter Wonderland by Crabapple Hill Studio.  Didn't she do a great job hand stitching all those snowmen and snowflakes?
I wanted to quilt the pieced border a little special since it had large blank blocks.  I did a lot of micro stitching and ruler work.

In the area where she did all the hand work.  I just kept it simple with swirls and tried not to stitch over her hand work.

Hopefully it will be finished soon and I can show you the overall of the quilt.  I hope she is surprised with the quilting.
Thanks again,
Cathy

Big & Bold and Beautiful...

I used the Big & Bold pattern by Cozy Quilt Designs with the Bold and Beautiful fabrics by Michele D'Amore for Benartex Fabrics.  I just love the cool beachy tones with an accent of brown.  (Whew...that was a lot of B's.)

All over photo of the quilt. Can't you just feel the ocean air.  Maybe I am just really ready for summer.

I quilted with an all over meander.

I used just a soft cream tone on tone on the back.  And continued the brown accent as the binding.

Thanks for letting me share...

Kennesaw Mountains

I have found my groove with the flying geese.  I made the Kennesaw Mountains by Red Crinoline Quilts.

The all over photo of the quilt....However, I am a quilter not really a good photographer and keep editing the photo, but it keeps turning back to being on it's side......I give up.  Good thing it is not directional.  You just can see the floor at the side.

I was never really a fan of flying geese.  But have learned to like them.  I really like the sawtooth boarder.

I quilted the quilt so that there would be curves and arcs in the set -in blocks and gives it a look of a cathedral window.

I used a piece of Tavern Reds on the back.  I have been looking for the right project to use this fabric on and it was perfect for this quilt.

Thanks for letting me talk about my flying geese adventure and huff a little about the crazy photo that keeps flipping.
